SUMMARY:Foster Care and Adoption Education Classes – In-Person
DESCRIPTION:The in-person track is best suited for individuals who need or desire to complete their education quickly\, prefer in-person learning and/or those who have previously completed education and want a refresher course. \nThis track will primarily take place during two live consecutive days (Friday/Saturday) with minimal use of the online learning management system which includes introductory sessions as well as a pre- and post- test. \n

DESCRIPTION:Presenter: Ben Nesbitt\, TBRI Practitioner \nDate: November 16th\, 2024 \nTime: 9 AM – 4 PM \nLocation: Pioneer Grill by Knute Nelson\, 4403 Pioneer Road SE\, Alexandria\, MN 56308 \nLunch will be provided. \n  \nTraining Description: Trust-based Relational Intervention (TBRI) is an attachment-based\, trauma-informed intervention that is designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children. TBRI uses Empowering Principles to address physical needs\, Connecting Principles to address attachment needs\, and Correcting Principals to disarm fear-based behaviors. This training is ideal for any foster care licensed family who wishes to build their toolbox of trauma-informed strategies! We hope you’ll join us for TBRI Caregiver Training on November 16th! \n  \nPresenter Information: Ben Nesbitt\, MSW\, LICSW\, is a Minnesota-based therapist who is trained in numerous evidence-based practices to treat relational\, emotional\, and behavioral concerns. His areas of interest include attachment\, adoption and foster care\, family of origin issues\, parenting\, relational connection\, communication\, trauma\, abuse and neglect\, depression\, anxiety\, grief and loss\, early childhood mental health\, child and brain development\, and parent-child relationships. Prior to becoming a therapist\, he worked with individuals and families impacted by domestic and international adoption. \n  \nThis training is made possible by the Permanency Support Services Grant from the Minnesota Department of Children\, Youth\, and Families. Only Minnesota residents are eligible to attend.
