SUMMARY:Black Teens in Action Spring Cohort
DESCRIPTION:Black Teens in Action is a youth driven\, in-person program where Black teens can grow\, connect\, and take action together. Over four weeks\, participants will design and lead a community service project that makes a real impact—whether it’s hosting a block party\, organizing a cleanup\, or preparing meals for those in need. \nYouth will meet once a week for three weeks to plan\, gain leadership and advocacy skills\, build relationships\, and explore their cultural identity through meaningful discussions and team-building activities. The final fourth week is dedicated to bringing their project to life in the local BIPOC community. \nYouth will receive a stipend of $550 for their time and leadership if they participate in the entire program. Dinner will be provided at each meeting. \nDates \n\nApril 7\nApril 14\nApril 21\nApril 28\n\nTime: 5:30pm – 7:30pm \nLocation: Franklin Library in Minneapolis 1314 E Franklin Ave\, Minneapolis\, MN 55404 (subject to change) \nTo qualify for Black Teens in Action\, teens need to be \n\nBetween 13-17 years-old\nIdentify as Black or African American\nHave been adopted\, or currently in Foster Care or Kinship Care in Minnesota.\n\n*This program can only accommodate 10 youth on a first come first serve\, all other youth will be waitlisted. \n*If you have participated in Black Teens in Action in the last year\, you may be waitlisted

DESCRIPTION:Join Us for Community & Connection\nConnect2Connect provides opportunities for foster\, adoptive and kinship (formal or informal) families to connect with one another and build relationships in an in-person\, interactive\, and fun way. Connect2Connect is made possible by the Minnesota Department of Children\, Youth\, and Families Permanency Support Service grant. \nSunday\, May 17th\, 2026\, from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. (CT)\nRed Barn Learning Farm; Hayfield\, MN\nPlease join us for an afternoon of connection\, play\, and farm fun at Red Barn Learning Farm – a destination your kids will be talking about for months to come! \nFamilies are welcome to arrive beginning at 12:00 pm\, when a sandwich lunch will be available in the picnic space.
