Live Webinar Series: Ages and Stages of Healthy Sexual Development

The goal of each webinar in the series is to provide information on healthy sexual development by discussing typical developmental milestones and what this means for caregivers. Participants will also have the opportunity to practice responding to ‘teachable moments’ about healthy sexuality with the young people in their lives.

Presenter: Logan Sand (they/them) has been with the Seeing and Exploring Life’s Future (SELF) Department since 2017 and they have been a sexuality educator since 2014. Their teaching philosophy is to provide anti-oppression and social justice focused education, with a particular focus on consent, decision making and gender inclusivity. Prior to joining LSS, Logan worked in counseling training and curriculum development for Family Tree Clinic in St. Paul, Minnesota and taught Introduction to Human Sexuality at Montgomery County Community College in Pennsylvania. They currently serve as an adjunct professor at Adler Graduate School. Logan has an M.Ed. in Human Sexuality Education from Widener University (Chester, Pennsylvania), possesses a B.A. in Neuroscience Studies and Psychology from Macalester College (St. Paul), and was published in the American Journal of Sexuality Education in 2018.
The SELF team provides comprehensive, medically accurate and culturally relevant sexuality education to youth, their families and the professionals who work with them. Serving roughly 1,000 youth and 300 adults annually, SELF provides education to individuals at high risk of public health disparities, with expertise in working with LGBTQ+ youth and youth with developmental and intellectual disabilities. |
