Live Webinar | Ages & Stages of Healthy Sexual Development

August 20 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

The goal of each webinar in the series is to provide information on healthy sexual development by discussing typical developmental milestones and what this means for caregivers. Participants will also have the opportunity to practice responding to ”teachable moments” about healthy sexuality with the young people in their lives.

June Presenter: Cat Hammond brings more than 10 years of sex ed experience to their role as an Adolescent Health Specialist with the Seeing & Exploring Life’s Future (SELF) team at Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota. In addition to teaching about sexual health in classroom and community settings, they have created and presented workshops around sexual and gender identity for organizations ranging from schools to theatre companies to religious congregations. Cat is also a performer, dramaturg, and theatre educator who has worked in creative roles at venues including Mixed Blood, Children’s Theatre Company, the Jungle Theatre, and the History Theatre.

July & August Presenter: Logan Sand (they/them) has been with the SELF team since 2017 and they have been a sexuality educator since 2014. Their teaching philosophy is to provide anti-oppression and social justice-focused education, with a particular focus on consent, decision making and gender inclusivity. Prior to joining LSS, Logan worked in counseling training and curriculum development for Family Tree Clinic in St. Paul, Minnesota and taught Introduction to Human Sexuality at Montgomery County Community College in Pennsylvania. They currently serve as an adjunct professor at Adler Graduate School. Logan has an M.Ed. in Human Sexuality Education from Widener University (Chester, Pennsylvania), possesses a B.A. in Neuroscience Studies and Psychology from Macalester College (St. Paul), and was published in the American Journal of Sexuality Education in 2018.
