[Spring Summit] Relationships Heal
March 7 @ 10:45 am - 11:45 am
FreeRelationships Heal: Evidence Based Mental Health Services for Young Children and Caregivers.
This workshop will help audience members understand key principles of infant and early childhood mental health. We will also explore the importance of early intervention services that simultaneously support the developmental needs of young children, their primary caregivers, and their relationship(s) with one another. Two evidence-based early childhood mental health interventions (i.e., Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-up and Child Parent Psychotherapy) will be introduced with specific attention to and consideration of children with a history of relational trauma and disruptions in care.
Dr. Nora Erickson is a clinical child psychologist and Assistant Professor in the Birth to Three Program within the University of Minnesota Department of Pediatrics. She received her PhD in clinical psychology from Washington State University and completed both her predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Michigan. Her clinical and research work focuses on the intersection between parental well-being and early childhood mental health, with a specific emphasis on intergenerational trauma and resiliency. Dr. Erickson has prior training in several evidence-based early childhood mental health interventions, including dyadic and group-based modalities.
