This presentation explores the most challenging behaviors children who have experienced trauma may exhibit and provides practical, trauma-informed strategies for responding with empathy and effectiveness. Child welfare professionals will gain insight into the underlying causes of behaviors such as shame, need for control, and sensory differences, as well as techniques to foster trust and mitigate behavioral challenges. By understanding these behaviors through a more holistic lens, professionals can better support children and their families in building healthy, lasting connections.
