Understanding Complex Grief and Loss in Foster Care

May 20 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

May is National Foster Care Month and this training was planned with foster youth and foster families in mind! Grief and loss are deeply imbedded in the foster care process. When youth are removed from their family, they often grieve. Similarly, when foster families care for youth that eventually leave their home, they often grieve. This webinar will discuss the emotional processes of grief and loss as they apply to both foster youth and foster families. Case examples will be included that illustrate how grief and loss dynamics present themselves and how understanding foster care grief and loss can help in responding in a supportive and healing manner.
