This presentation will help you understand screening, assessment and eligibility for services and supports, medical assistance, and specialized educational services. It will also highlight eligibility tips and tools for county services. Lastly, this presentation will explore an overview of educational services, including consent for educational services, and the role of school districts.

Presenter: Janet Salo is a kinship navigator through LSS’ Kinship Family Support Services.  She is the parent of an adult with a developmental disability, who has experienced navigating many county, medical, legal and federal benefit systems. She is passionate in supporting kinship caregivers as they access services, resources and supports for themselves, and the children in their care.  She has a Grandfamilies Leadership Certificate, training in Family Group Decision Making, and is a qualified Rule 114 Mediator.
